Nearly two centuries ago, Joshua James Gates and Emiline Gates planted the earliest known roots of our family's story in Chickasaw County, Mississippi.

Historical records tell us where they lived. History tells us the challenges of the times they lived through. Like many families of their era, each generation worked to build stability, raise children, strengthen their faith, and create greater opportunities for those who would come after them.

Generation after generation, our family journey continued through Mississippi, Arkansas, Illinois, and eventually Nebraska.

Each generation inherited more than a name.
They inherited responsibility.

The Burns Family Foundation exists to honor that responsibility by preserving our family's legacy while inspiring future generations to strengthen their communities.
